[Abstract]　As a language identity, Be Come and the like should by no means be classified as such a structure as held by New English Grammar Course,a textbook widely used in universities in China.This article offers a tentative version of the phenomenon in question,suggesting that,if regarded as another realization of the perfective aspect,Be Come might be better understood and appreciated.

[摘　要]　作为语言实体,Be come现象不应列为《新编英语语法教程》所示的句法结构。如果看成第二完成体,英语论文范文Become也许能得到更充分的理解和欣赏。

一、问题的产生
在叙述-ed分词作补语时,全国高校选用教材《新编英语语法教程》(2000)(以下简称《教程》)这样例示另类现象:
A.Gone forever are the days when the imperialists could ride roughshod over the Chinese people.
B.They are come.
C.The students were seen assembled in the hall.
《教程》在此处指出:“不及物动词的-ed分词能用作补语的只限于少数表示位置转移的动词,如go, come, assemble等,它们用在联系动词之后,表示完成意义(但无被动意义)。”(P393)把They are come.看成是系-补结构,似乎于教于学都不易接受。鉴于现代英语中存在相当数量的同类现象,亦鉴于《教程》的认定有碍这些现象的理解、分析和欣赏,且有碍补语句法特征的确立,本文提出标题语言实体,试与《教程》的编委和有关学者商榷。

二、Be Come现象:应予确认的语言实体
几乎所有正在使用《教程》的学生表示不熟悉或不习惯这样的语言表达,然而,阅读量的扩大迟早会使他们面对这样的语言事实:

[5] And, being come to the strength of a man, Jason determined to set all this business to rights, and to punish the wicked Pelias for wronging his father, and to cast him down from the throne, and seat himself there instead. ( N. Hawthorne: Tanglewood Tale P156)
