Conclusion


Considering vocational colleges, it is an initial study on exploring the influentialfactors of L2 WTC in the classroom. The present study yields some valuable findings.However, it inevitably has some limitations. Therefore, some suggestions are alsogiven for future study.
Firstly, the subjects are limited in the present study. Although they are chosenrandomly, all subjects are from Wuhan Technical College of Communications. Theycan not represent all vocational college students in Hubei Province, not to mention inChina. In addition, only freshmen are chosen as subjects. Therefore, a larger sampleshould be made in future study. The subjects can be chosen from different grades, evendifferent vocational colleges. The comparisons of L2 WTC in the classroom can bemade between freshmen and sophomores in vocational colleges.
Secondly, the present study was conducted by means of students’ self-reports,interviews from students and teachers. Thus, the results of the investigation may not beentirely credible. If possible, a video-tape can be used to record the classroomprocedures for future study. Because it is more authentic to record what students andteachers do during the English classes. Thus, the reliability and validity of self-reportsand interviews can be improved. Besides, some variables influencing students’ L2WTC were studied in the present study. Other variables, such as personality andtraditional Chinese culture, should also be studied empirically for future study.
