摘要:Though there are some contrastive studies on first person pronouns in RAs indifferent fields, yet rare researches of contrastive study on first person pronouns insocial science papers of Chinese and native English authors have been done.
2.2 Introduction of Person Pronouns
Person pronouns concern the encoding of the role of participants in the speech eventin which the utterance in question is delivered (Levinson,1983). Person pronouns arereflected directly in the grammatical categories of person. A classical example is citedby Levinson as follows:A meamed [Hebrew: teacher] discovering that he had left his comfortableslippers back in the house, sent a student after them with a note for his wife. The noteread: "Send me your slippers with this boy,,,When the student asked why he hadwritten “ycmr” slippers and would send her slippers/ what could I do with her slippers? So I wrote 'your, slippers, she'll read 'your slippers and send me mine" (Levinson,1983: 68)Person deixis is a symbol Reference which refers to the participator in speechactivity or relative role. Generally speaking, person deixis can be classified into threekinds: first person, namely speaker, second person, namely hearer, and third person, which include neither speaker nor hearer. I (me, my),we (us,our),you (you, your),he(him, his),she (her, her), they (them, their) constitute the personal pronouns systemsof English, known as English person deictic words (Table 2.1). They are related with aspecific time, place and tasks etc,in specific contexts, with social relationshipbetween things and people. The usage of person pronouns could be abnormal and itcan be explained from a pragmatic point of view.
