CONCLUSION
According to the previous researches by Paul Ekman and other scholars, facialexpressions are the true feelings of human being and animals’ emotions. By analyzingdifferent facial movements in American TV series Lie to Me, the author find out somesteps to identify different emotions expressed on human faces, nonverbal messagescan also be identified from those facial expressions. When a person is telling lies, a lotof his body signs would betray him or her, such as heart rate, skin temperature, vocalstress, blood pressure, perspiration and so on. And for facial part, we can also find alot of clues.First of all, a base line should be created for the research object. A base line is astandard for one person’s basic body movement when he or she feels comfortable inthe specific condition and is telling the truth. Since different persons have differentways of thinking, talking and moving styles, we need to create a standard of the facialmovements when the research object was telling the truth. In this step, such as insome criminal investigations, the police always ask the suspects some basicinformation like name, gender, age, in order to create the base line of the suspect.
