 the  ideology  of  speakers  can  be  revealed.  Barack  Obama’s former  SOTU  Address  has  been  explored  by  many  scholars.  SOTU  Address’s importance  is  undeniable.  It  represents  the  reflections  of  the  president  of  United States.  It  is  not  only  closely  connected  with  the  people’s  interests  of  United  States, but  intimately  related  to  the  whole  world  due  to  the  worldwide  influence  of  the country. China, the biggest developing country in the world, is frequently mentioned in Barack Obama’s SOTU Address. Therefore, Barack Obama’s 2015 SOTU Address is still worth studying. The  purpose  of  this  research  is  to  find  out  the  ideational  meaning  of  his  2015 SOTU  Address  and  arouse  readers’  attention  to  the  opaque  ideology  implied  in  the language  of  political  speeches  so  that  they  can  understand  the  language  of  political speeches  better  than  before  and  make  an  unbiased  evaluation  when  listening  to  the similar kind of political speeches later. The significance of this research can be classified into the following four points: firstly, it may blossom the research of political speeches and make it deeper; secondly, it  can  be  useful  and  helpful  for  readers  to  understand  other  presidential  speeches. Thirdly,  SOTU  Address  has  been  studied  from  Appraisal  Theory,  Polarity,  and Translation.  However,  not  many  scholars  have  researched  SOTU  Address  by  means of  transitivity  analysis,  let  alone  Barack  Obama’s  2015  SOTU  Address.  Therefore, this  research  can  be  as  a  supplement.  Finally,  concerning  the  charisma  of  Barack Obama’s speeches, the analysis of its linguistic features can reveal the secrets of his speeches, which will benefit other orators.
