Reading report of The Scars of Love
The scars of love is a short story, the main content is that there are two scars on a little boy’s body, the leg is extremely scarred by the vicious attack of the animal and on his arms were deep scratches where his mother’s fingernails dug into his flesh in her effort to hang on to the son she loved. The survival of the little boy is the result of the scar in his arms. Later, the newspaper reporter who interviewed the boy after the trauma asked if he would show him his scars. The boy lifted his pant legs. And then, with obvious pride, he said to the reporter, “But look at my arms. I have great scars on my arms, too. I have them because my mom wouldn’t let go”.
From that story, we can see that sometimes we foolishly wade into dangerous situations. The swimming hole of life is filled with peril - and we forget that the enemy is waiting to attack. That’s when the tug-of-war begins - and if you have the scars of His love on your arms, you should be very grateful, because there are someone in your life never gives up you.
From the words the little boy said, we should feel very grateful there are scars of love when we have dangers. When we look at these scars, we may think they are so ugly, we want to remove them forever; we hate to look at them, and feel painful, but remember why they are here, some of them are left because somebody has refused to let go. In the midst of your struggle, they has been there holding on to you, never give up you, and because there are someone who love you deeply, want to protect you and provide for you in everyway. So when you look at those scars, be grateful, be thankful, and be ready to love those people who love you, and help them.
From that story, we also can see that do not be ashamed of the scars on your body, just show off, do not feel painful, be proud of, because they are embodies for love. Scars mean ugliness, it is very ashamed to appear in public, but just a little boy can be proud of saying “but look at my arms. I have great scars on my arms, too. I have them because my mom wouldn’t let go.” That is the correct way to face with scars. They are scars of love. Scars mean love from somebody who cares about you.
