nbsp;primary school. Students tend to make mistakes easily when they chose a tense. They can’t understand the definition of different tenses fully and how to choose the right tense is more difficult for them. How to choose the right tense and how to use the different forms of verbs is the main point in the English learning. (Li, 2005: 90). Under the traditional teacher-centered mode, many students can’t get the real meaning of different tenses with high enthusiasm. Some students can’t understand the grammar whiles some shows that they can’t use the tense correctly after they learn a new one. It is difficult for them to combine the correct forms of tenses with the content they want to express. With the increase of the difficulty of English tenses, students tend to lose interest toward English and some may give up finally. In this study, the author chooses the student-centered mode when teacher teaches tense. The author aims to stimulate students’ interest toward English trough different activities such as games, group work and so on. Students become the main subject of the English class and they have the responsibility to process and organize the information. Teachers become the helper and facilitator of students and their responsibility is to give help when students meet difficulties. In this way, this study aims to help students master the four kinds of tenses easily and happily. At the same time, the student-centered mode gives students more chances and students’ initiative study abilities can be enhanced.

2.1 Studies of the student-centered mode abroad
It is not easy to define the concept of the student-centered mode, because the concept is so conclusive. However some researchers tried to do so. Mc Combs and Whisler define the student-centered mode as the focus is put on individual learners( their experience, heredity, backgrounds, perspectives, interests, talents, needs and capacities) and also on the learning( how teaching practices occurs that can promote learner’s motivation, interest and learning achievement effectively and also the available knowledge) (Mc Combs and Whisler 1997: 9).
