ABSTRACT
Besides applying technological knowledge in products and services, firms may externally leverage their technology assets, by means of technology licensing. Despite its increasing managerial and theoretical importance, 代写留学生论文external technology transfer has been relatively neglected in prior research. Based on Agramkow Fluid System case study, this paper explored the policy of commercializing external technology and the organizational structure in SMEs. In addition it also important to figure out performance consequence of external technology commercialization (ETC) compared with firms developing technology by own. Further results and implications of the study for external technology commercialization are addressed.
INTRODUCTION
When taking a look on the present situation, it is said that knowledge acquisition from outside is a universal phenomenon with regard to even the largest and most technological self-sufficient organizations. Instead of doing own research and development and also in order to attract researchers contributing relevant knowledge, enterprises typically are inclining to label knowledge sources to the firm through such as licensing, contracting out R&D, and acquisitions of others. In addition, it is possible for firms to cooperate actively in R&D with other enterprises and research organization such as universities or give an attempt to acquire existing technology without any explicit involvement from the innovator. (Cassiman and Veulegers, 2007)
