摘要:随着计算机技术和网络信息技术的迅猛发展,电子商务(电子商务)已成为一个新的概念,并逐步在发展中国家的国际贸易获得通过。
veloping countries are not willing to adopt e-commerce. This is because compared with companies in developed countries, it is more difficult for companies in developing countries to apply e-commerce. Some think it is not worth to invest in e-commerce. “businesses in developing countries face challenges different from those in developed countries” (Molla & Licker, 2005:878). Molla and Licker (2005) states that the lack of the basic support, such as information technology and relevant regulation, will result in that companies in developing countries hesitate to apply e-commerce in foreign trade. Therefore, this essay will focus on developing countries in order to help companies in developing countries pay attention to the future of e-commerce, actively cope with challenges and develop e-commerce in case they lag behind the times.
Various reasons can been put forward to prove the trend that the e-commerce is the future of international trade. One obvious benefit of applying e-commerce in international trade is that e-commerce could simplify the trade process. Usually, the international trade involves a series of procedures, such as finding right suppliers, negotiation, and signing documents, which are very complex and costly in conventional trade (Terziaa, 2011). In addition, directly selling products to importers is hard in traditional trade and middlemen are often needed (Jiao et al, 2011). Yet, thanks to e-commerce, conducting foreign trade will be more convenient. According to Terziaa (2011), cooperations between buyers and sellers can be achieved in different geographic regions. Jiao et al (2011) also demonstrates that manufacturers could directly establish business relations with buyers without middlemen. Therefore, with the help of e-commerce, the procedures of international trade could be streamlined. Moreover, businessmen could be released from long time travel and save time because it is not necessary to fly just for negotiation or signing documents. .
Second benefit is lower cost. Jiao et al (2011) asserts that manufactures are only responsible for production in traditional trade and middlemen charge a lot for the rest procedures. But now, the e-commerce provides a platform where sellers could directly contact with buyers without the intermediaries so that cost reduction can be obtained (Jiao et al, 2011; Molla & Licker, 2005; Terziaa, 2011). Furthermore, written-documents can be replaced by e-documents during e-trade, which will make errors be corrected easier and save companies costly print fee and (Jiao et al, 2011). Due to cost reduction, enterprises could gain greater profit margin or obtain competitive advantages to occupy a larger market share by reducing price. Pursuing profit is a struggle goal of enterprises hence seeking methods to cut down cost is the challenge that enterprises often have to face. Applying the e-commerce in international trade is an effective way, thus the e-commerce has broad prospect.
