SPECIFICATIONS

Aim 1. To deepen awareness of how a person's background (notions of culture etc) can shape
their attitudes and behaviour.

Aim 2. To relate this awareness to Indigenous Australians and culturally diverse groups.

Aim 3. To understand culture within the context of computer science.

In this assignment you need to prepare a word document that demonstrates your learning in
relation to the aims through your participation in an activity.

The activity requires you to use reflective thinking through discussion to explore your concept of
culture. To be successful in this assignment you will need to do the following:

1. Download and review the assignment feedback form on the course website for this
assignment.
2. Review this 5 minute presentation about Professional behaviour - ethics, culture and values at

3. Think about your current understanding of culture and consider what it means to you.
4. Engage with others in the Discussion Forum “Concepts of Culture” on the course website to
clarify your thinking. This forum will be facilitated by tutors with Indigenous Australian
backgrounds.

word document that summarises your reflection and learning - quoting discussion posts, visual
representations and the comments of others - to indicate how your concept of culture has
broadened or changed through participating in this activity. Adjust the file name to include your
surname for marking purposes.
