it safe and of any convenience. The short blocks do not have many buildings surrounding them and are deficient in the high densities of population as well. There are definitely blocks in which are isolated and not used at all. Many students stay only within certain streets and do not really bother with the others. Their sidewalks are widened yet in areas which are not really occupied.

USP like Drexel contains short blocks but majority of them are long. The school is pretty much isolated so they too lack the surroundings needed for safe and diverse environment. The density of people and buildings are not sufficient in general. As mentioned before towards the late hours the campus is dead and very quiet. There are a few short blocks but only used throughout the day if needed. Looking back at the assessments made, these Universities are just one of many examples of areas from the city that have not adapted the principles stressed by Jacobs and are not capable of using the resources provided. If a few improvements and additions would be made, the experiences at these areas could be worthwhile.

The last and final principle she proposes is the need for old and aged buildings alongside the new buildings. She explains that if a city area had only new buildings it would automatically be limited to only those who can support the high cost of the new construction thus limiting diversity. She believes that ordinary enterprises in old buildings are necessary to the public safety and life of streets and neighborhoods and are appreciated for their convenience and personal quality. New buildings to her experience stand as just an attraction without old buildings. They are never lively, interesting, or convenient which once again yields no diversity. At Temple there are a good mixture of old and new buildings in which fit Jacobs description. Old buildings include places such as Mitten Hall, Wachman Hall, Engineering Department, and Anderson hall. New buildings include places such as the Fox School of Business, Alter Hall, Tuttleman Learning Center, and the Tech Center. Both old and new buildings are spread evenly throughout the campus and there are no excess amounts of one style of building throughout the areas. Students are always mingling throughout all of these areas and are not bunched up near one specific building. In general, this area has done well with adapting this principle.

At Drexel they too have adapted this concept pretty well with a favorable amount of old and new buildings. Believe it or not, most of their buildings are still old and they have just begun additions for new buildings. Although pretty distance from one another a few of their new buildings include Bossone Hall and LeBow Engineering Center. The old buildings which are close to one another include the Main building, Curtis Hall, and Disque Hall. Although these buildings exist there are not many densities of people who are around these areas. At USP they do contain new buildings but a majority of these buildings are older. Recent additions include buildings such as the Wilson Student Center, and McNeil Science and Tech Center. Older buildings include Griffith Hall, Alumni Hall, and Goodman Hall. Due to the new additions, majority of the students usually lounge around these areas and avoid the rest of the论文英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写英语论文代写代写论文代写英语论文代写留学生论文代写英文论文留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
