4.1 Analysis of the Data from Vocabulary Tests
In order to verify whether Multimodal PPT can affect the vocabularymemorization of primary school students, the author conducted independent sampletest and paired sample test on the vocabulary pretest and post-test results of the ECand the CC.
4.1.1 Data Analysis of the Pretest
The pretest results of the CC and the EC were recorded into the SPSS 23.0statistical software for analysis, and the data were sorted out in the following table:
As can be seen from the above table, the mean score of the CC was 79.486 points,while that of the EC was 79.73 points. There was little difference between the twoclasses. In order to further verify whether there is a significant difference invocabulary scores between the two classes, the author further conducted an independent sample t-test of data.

5.1 Major Findings
In this study, students from two classes in grade five were selected as theresearch objects, and a four-month comparative experiment between Multimodal PPTvocabulary teaching and traditional vocabulary teaching was conducted to verifywhether the application of Multimodal PPT in vocabulary teaching can improvestudents’ vocabulary learning effect and interest. After data collection andinvestigation, the results were analyzed scientifically.
From the results of vocabulary tests, the first research question can be answered— the Multimodal PPT vocabulary teaching can make a better impact on thevocabulary memory of primary school students and improve their vocabularyperformance to a certain extent. Multimodal PPT vocabulary teaching can improvestudents’ ability of memorizing words mainly because the way of presenting andpracticing words is multimodal, which stimulates students’ multiple senses. Bypresenting words in more vivid forms such as pictures, sounds, videos, differentcolors, fonts, etc., students’ eyes, ears, mouths, hands, brains and other physicalsenses can be actively mobilized and actively participate in vocabulary consolidationexercises to reduce the difficulty of vocabulary memory. What’s more, MultimodalPPT vocabulary teaching can create a relaxed learning atmosphere, rich teachingforms to mobilize students’ enthusiasm for learning, so as to promote vocabularymemory.
