1.1 Background背景
英语作为一种国际语言,已受到越来越多的关注肉,禽,蛋,奶年,L2学习者的数量越来越大。因此,时,有许多研究人员研究了第二语言习得(SLA)领域。最近,有越来越大的兴趣在语言研究的用语,确定不同的公式化多字的序列,并说明如何使用这些序列在自然话语As an international language, English has received more and more attention inrecent years, and the number of L2 learners becomes larger and larger. Thus, thereare many researchers have studied on second language acquisition (SLA) field.Recently,there has been increasing interest in the linguistic study of phraseology,identifying different kinds of formulaic multi-word sequences and describing howthese sequences are used in natural discourse (Weinert, 1995; Ellis, 1996; Howarth,1996,1998; Wray & Perkins, 2000; Wray,2002,cited in Douglas Biber,2009).Formulaic sequences are much more than strings of words linked together withcollocational ties,and the competent use of formulaic sequences becomes animportant factor for SLA. One research suggests that at least one-third to one-half oflanguage is composed of formulaic sequences (Howarth, 1998a; https://www.51lunwen.org/zhichengyingyucihui/ Erman & Warren,2000; Foster,2001,cited in Conklin & Schmitt, 2008). There must have reasons thatformulaic sequences are so widespread. Although different researchers give thedifferent explanations from various perspectives, the present study will use apsycholinguistic explanation, which has been articulated most clearly by Pawley &Syder (1983, cited in Conklin & Schmitt, 2008) that formulaic sequences offerprocessing efficiency because single memorized units, even if made up of a sequenceof words, are processed more quickly and easily than the same sequences of wordswhich are generated creatively.According to the studies about L2 lerners' lexicon, the present study found thatthere are many scholars do such a research about the relationship between languageacquisition and formulaic sequences in SLA field. A number of researchers (Krashen& Scarcella,1978; Schmitt & Carter,2004; Weinert, 1995; Wray, 2002; R. Ellis,1984; Fillmore, 1979; Hakuta, 1974; Hanania & Gradman, 1977,etc, cited in JiangNan,2007) have explored such issues as the identification and classification offormulaic sequences, the causes of extensive use of formulaic sequences in SLA, andthe role of formulaic sequences in L2 development. And all the studies aboutlanguage acquisition on the hypothesis that formulaic sequences are stored andprocessed holistically. As the discussion of the paper has shown, the evidence forsuch a hypothesis has not been conclusive. In order to explore the answer of thequestion that "whether formulaic sequence is stored and retrieved as a whole inmental lexicon,’,nowadays researchers use the psycholinguistic approach to do theempirical study, which include: Reaction Time (RT)(Conklin & Schmitt,2008; NanJiang, 2007); Eye-tracking (Underwood et al, 2004 & Ehrlich et al, 1981); OralReproduction (Conklin & Schmitt, 2008; Schmitt & Underwood, 2004); and ERP(Zhang Hui,2009; Siyanova et al,2009).
