摘要:本文是一篇英语词汇学论文,本研究的研究对象是来自广州市某中学九年级两个平行班的93名学生,其中对实验组47名学生采取基于PBL的写作教学,对控制组46名学生采用传统PWP写作教学模式。

本文是一篇英语词汇学论文,本研究将项目式学习(PBL)引入初中英语写作教学中,探究该教学法对初中生英语写作词汇丰富性的影响。根据Read(2000)分类,将词汇丰富性分为词汇多样性,词汇复杂度,词汇密度及词汇错误四个维度来进行分析。

1.1 Research Background

Writing is one of the important expressive skills that students need to acquire intheir English learning,which is closely related to the Core Qualities of English.TheNational English Curriculum Standards clearly require students to be able to collectand prepare materials according to writing requirements,and independently draft,modify,and complete the discourse;use words accurately and smoothly in writtenexpression;and be able to understand and apply basic writing skills and strategies,such as examining questions,selecting materials,outlining,and accumulating wordsand sentences,to improve their writing ability(English Curriculum Standards forCompulsory Education,2022:30-31).However,in the actual English writingclassroom,the students'writing effects are not ideal,and the writing quality isdifficult to improve,which is still far from the requirements of the new CurriculumStandards for students'writing.There are many factors that affect the quality ofstudents'English writing.First,traditional writing teaching is teacher-centred,andstudents only passively accept the writing skills and knowledge taught by teachers,ignoring the subjectivity of students.The traditional English writing teachingcharacterized by'proposition-composition-correction/comment'has become one ofthe factors restricting the development of students'writing abilities(Liu,Zhang&Wang,2014).Secondly,students still have some difficulties in the use of vocabularywhen writing,while vocabulary plays a vital role in writing,and the use of vocabularydirectly affects the quality of writing(Li,2014).

1.2 Research Objectives

Writing is a complex and creative thinking activity,and its importance inlanguage learning is self-evident.However,for a long time,English writing teachinghas been a teaching difficulty,and English writing is also the weakest and mostdifficult project for most students to break through in English proficiency tests(Qiao&Wang,2020).There are many specific problems in students'writing,such as emptycontent,incomprehensible words,inconsistent context,monotonous sentence patterns,and so on.The important reason for these problems is the lack of students'Englishexpression vocabulary.Obviously,the use of vocabulary has become an importantfactor affecting the quality of second language writing.Therefore,the development ofstudents'lexical richness in English writing teaching is also a major measure toimprove students'writing quality.

PBL enables students to master key knowledge and skills by studying and dealingwith a real,attractive,and complex problem over a period of time.The focus of thisteaching approach is students'learning goals.In the process of problem-solving,students are involved in the search,integration,and display of materials,which are allrelated to the accumulation and use of vocabulary for students.In view of this,thereare two purposes for this research:
