Conclusion

According to the limitations of the present study, some suggestions are proposedfor the future study to enhance the cultivation of lexical stylistic awareness duringEnglish teaching and learning.Firstly, the sample should be larger if time and energy permitted.Secondly, it is better to adopt questionnaire with high reliability designed by theexpert which has been evaluated and tested. The items of the research should have agood corresponding to research questions. And the result of the research should bepredicted so that you know what is going on with your research.Thirdly, it is necessary for the further researchers to make an exploration tocultivate stylistic awareness at the level of syntax and discourse.
In order to solve the existing problems discussed in the study, the researcherproposes some strategies to cultivate the students’ lexical stylistic awareness from theaspect of learning and teaching. The teachers should emphasize the importance ofstylistic awareness in writing, give a systematic introduction of the stylisticknowledge in class teaching and provide practice to help the students apply thelearned knowledge to writing. The students should attach much attention to thedifferences of synonym, the colloquial style and literary style, formal style andinformal style. In addition, the students also should be aware of the significance ofappropriateness while writing.
