摘要:All the problems existed in the vocational school are found by many teachers; however,few teachers can deal with them. After trying to use many other methods, people begin toturn to pay attention to the MI Theory.

icIntelligence, Logical - Mathematical Intelligence, Musical Intelligence, Bodily-KinestheticIntelligence, Visual- Spatial Intelligence Interpersonal Intelligence and IntrapersonalIntelligence, Later he also added Natural Intelligence, there are eight intelligences in all.Since the Multiple Intelligences Theory was proposed in the 1980s, which wasconcerned by the United States of America gifted education areas. According to the MultipleIntelligences Theory, genius was not reflected in the extreme minority groups, everyone islikely to have a “genius potential”. This changed the traditional talent concept, and brought arevolutionary influence to the genius education. Many experts of gifted children and projectsfrom the Multiple Intelligences Theory began its study on application in the education ofgifted children in the United States, such as University of Arizona, Professor June Makerwas responsible for DISCOVER project.

2.2 Literature on application of MI Theory to English teaching
The study on MI Theory have gotten lots of achievements, many educators abroad andhome have applied the MI Theory into English teaching, and find that the MI theory canpromote the efficiency of English teaching. In the following, the researcher introduces theresearch status of application of MI theory to English teaching abroad and in china. In recent years, multiple intelligences theory in foreign language teaching has made greatachievements. Some educators presented their main points.American educator Armstrong is the most important figure, in his book “MultipleIntelligences in the Classroom”, (1994). He thinks people want to success in the real worldand can’t rely on only linguistics and logical-mathematical intelligences; he also putsforward that teachers are puzzled when teachers teach oral English by traditional methods,then according to the Multiple Intelligences Theory; teachers should be transformed indifferent ways so as to promote effective learning. Thus, teachers should reflect on theirteaching activities and teaching strategies on the basis of examining every student’sdifferences in intellectual development.Michael Berman firstly puts the MI theory into English teaching practice , in his book“A Multiple Intelligences Road to an ELT Classroom “(1998), he proposes an alternativemodel for traditional ELT classroom pedagogy and incorporates techniques such aseducational kinesiology and suggestopedia, he also proposes that the SAFER model forlanguage teaching.Linda & Bruce, Campbell are another scholars who study the MI theory, in their book“Multiple intelligences and teaching& learning strategies” they proposed that a new methodof application the MI theory in the classroom for teachers and a new perspective of teachingactivities.
