5.1 The improvement of students’ interest in English learning.
According to the experiment, researcher finds students in vocational school are weak inthe Linguistic and Logical intelligences, and are strong in the Spatial and Inter-personalintelligences, so researcher changes the traditional English teaching into the English teachingbased on the MI Theory.From the questionnaires on the interests of English learning, researcher finds students’interest of English learning is insufficient, even some students dislike learning English,English teacher is in troubles to organize the classroom. Everyone knows that students arelack of self-confidence in English learning. English teacher should think how to recover theconfidence of English learning. According to the MI Theory, teacher should find out thedifferent intelligences of students, and treat them as different ways. After knowing theintelligences feature of students, teacher should design teaching plan to develop strongintelligences, and make up for weak intelligences with strong intelligences, so all theintelligences of students can be improved.Everybody knows that interest is the best teacher; however, students from vocationalschool have lost interest in English learning because they have the failure experience injunior school, so it is first task for English teacher to arouse the interest of English learning.The MI theory provides the theoretical support for teachers. Though one term’s experiment,researcher is pleased to find that it is effective to recover the interest of learning English withthe help of MI Theory.However, researcher also should knows that the effect of experiment is limited, thestudents’ interest of English learning has changed a little, students are changing their oldideas of English, as English teacher in vocational school, there is a long way to go.

At present, vocational education in China doesn’t completely escape from the shadowof the general education model, vocational teaching methods and teaching concept do notmatch with the goal of vocational education, and vocational students as losers of thetraditional education are called“ underachievers” who are thought by teachers, parents andsociety, however, “Skilled talents” are suitable for the development of Chinese society, thetraditional concept of talent, concept of intelligence and exam-oriented education haveseriously impeded the development of vocational education.A new round of education reform is implemented in the vocational school, and putsforward the changes of vocational education from development of quantity to developmentof quality, that is to say that vocational education emphasizes on cultivating the talents inneed of society. the core ideas of reform are to make students not only possess the skills butalso become high-quality, all-around development person in order to meet the need ofsociety.
