摘要:Language teaching is a creative process in which the teacher makes correspondingdecisions according to the changing teaching environment. In order to fulfill the teachinggoal and improve the students' learning efficiency, the teacher has to use some teachingstrategies in some specific teaching situations.

Strategy indicatesbroad intentional action, referring to categories of instruction and belongs to the policylevel, while technique is intended for more specific behaviors, operations, procedures andactivities, so it belongs to practical action level. Technique is the application of strategies.However, method is a broader term. It consists of the approaches, the principles and theapplication of techniques for the achievement of education objectives, including the directmethod, the grammar-translation method, the audio-lingual method, the immersionmethod and so on.

2-2 Modeling
Bandura (1986) noted that the Skinnerian emphasis on the effects of the consequencesof behavior largely ignored the phenomena of modeling―the imitation of others'behavior―and of vicarious experience learning from others' successes or failures.Modeling, also known as vicarious learning or social learning or observational learning, islearning that occurs as a function of observing, retaining and, in the case of imitationlearning, replicating novel behavior executed by others. It is mostly associated with thework of psychologist Albert Bandura, who implemented some of the seminal studies in thearea and initial social learning theory. It involves both the process of learning to copy thesuccessful models through observing, and the process of avoiding imitating the poormodels.Bandura's (1986) "modeling" claimed that the learners model others' actions out ofconsciousness in natural environment. However, the operational definition of "Modeling"in the thesis is different from Bandura,s in the way that "Modeling" indicates the traineesmodel the successful models' actions and avoid imitating the poor models' demonstrationsunder the trainer's guidance.

4.1 Results
This chapter will report and interpret the results of the present research, includingresults from the total questionnaire-based post-survey scores and results from each of the 7categories of teaching strategies for English reading post-survey scores in thequestionnaire.When all the data were collected from the post-survey (see Appendixes G and H fordetails), 2-related-samples non-parametric tests (Wilcoxon) and a 2-independent-samplesnon-parametric test (Mann-Whitney U) were employed to make within-groupscomparisons and a between-groups comparison on the Control Group and theExperimental Group.
