ers to the learners’ specific purposes or needs in their specialist studies or work(Hutchinson & Waters, 1987).According  to  the  dictionary,  ESP  refers  to  the  teaching  of  English  to  students  whose native  language  is  not  English  but  who  need  it  for  a  particular  purpose,  job  or  activity.  The idea of ESP courses has been around since the late 1960s. Hutchinson &Waters (1987) claim that  the  demand  for  an  international  language  originated  with  the  end  of  the  Second  World War when the United States became a hegemonic nation creating a world that is unified and dominated by technology and commerce. As with most developments in human activity, ESP was not a coherent and planned movement, but rather a phenomenon that grew out of some converging  trends,  which  have  operated  in  a  variety  of  ways  in  the  world.  With  these developments  in  varied  fields  and  in  different  parts  of  the  world,  the  demands  for  English language  teaching  increased  dramatically.  Since  the  emergence  of  ESP  as  a  subject,  it  has gone through different phases: the demands of a Brave New World, a revolution in linguistics and the focus on the learners (Hutchinson & Waters, 1987).
