siness English students? The first research question is to clarify what language skills Business English students need to master. The majors’ English needs for their other Business English subjects can be reflected in these language skills, including reading comprehension, writing, listening comprehension and speaking. And in each language skill there are several specific tasks that the students need to accomplish. So this part contains two sections. The first section explores the students’ general descriptive results about the importance of language skills, and the second section is about specific descriptive results. The above Table 4.1 shows the general descriptive
statistics including means and standard deviations of students’ response to Question 6. It depicts a general picture of their opinions about English needs. As Table 4.1 shows, the means of reading comprehension, writing, listening comprehension and speaking are 3.21, 3.11, 1.89 and 1.79 respectively. The results reveal that the Business English students as English majors think that speaking was the most important skill and reading comprehension, the least important among the four skills. The results also explored that the majority of students think their speaking and listening comprehension needs improvement compared with their reading ability and writing.

Conclusions
According to the data analysis and discussion in the previous chapter, this chapter contains three parts: the major findings, the implications of this study and the suggestions for further study of the needs analysis of curriculum design for Business English teaching. Students rated all four macro-skills as important or mostly very important; however, they had different abilities in these skills. Firstly, for most of Business English students, speaking was viewed as the most important skill, listening as the second most important, with reading comprehension, considered the least important among the four skills. The majority of students think their speaking and listening comprehension needs improvement compared with their reading ability and writing. Their English needs to focus on the speaking and listening comprehension. A balance needs to be found between listening and speaking, and reading and writing.
