Required Resources

The proposed research involves qualitative research to provide in-depth information about hair care strengthening products in home, attitudes and possibilities of usage. This will help to design the questionnaire to be used in the final stage. We propose to carry out a telephone study using CATI (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing). This has been chosen as a cost-effective way of contacting relevant respondents. Personal interviewing would go outside the budget. The proposal of online approach or postal study wouldn’t be appropriate. The telephone interview would give us opportunity to select people accurately and swiftly. This gives an assurance of achieving the number and type of respondent to our product.

Cost vs. Benefit Analysis

The cost of goods to be sold consists mainly of the industrial production cost of Sinew——s Hair Care products sold, the cost of distributing products to customers including the freight and delivery costs, either directly or indirectly through depots, inventory impairment costs, and royalties paid to third parties. Net sales are recognised when the risks and rewards inherent in ownership of the goods have been transferred to the customer. Sales incentives, cash discounts and product returns will be deducted from sales, as are incentives granted to distributors or consumers, resulting in a cash outflow, such as commercial cooperation, coupons, discounts and loyalty programmes. Sales incentives, cash discounts, provisions for returns and incentives granted to customers are recorded simultaneously to the recognition of the sales, if they can be estimated in a reasonably reliable manner, based on statistics compiled from past experience and contractual conditions.

Foreign exchange gains and losses resulting from the difference between the value of foreign currency operating income and expenses translated at the spot rate will be effective on the transaction date and the exchange rate will be effective on the settlement dates which are recognised directly on the corresponding income and expense lines, after allowing for hedging derivatives. Changes in the time value of hedging derivatives (including option premiums) are systematically charged to the profit and loss account.

Conclusion

Overall Sinew Inc will be capitalising on the appreciation for healthier and stronger hair in both countries. As stated before, my overall objective is to maximise on Sinew——s Hair Strengthening Creams’ profit via increased sales. In order to determine which market is suitable for Sinew——s hair cream, PESTEL and SWOT analysis was undertaken and numerous research questions where addressed as a means of tackling and examining potential barriers of entry that could arise in both these foreign markets. These potential barriers aid in choosing an appropriate entry strategy, which will spur the success of Sinew. In addition, additional research in all forms where carried out (i.e. secondary, desk, explanatory etc) to solidify the decision as to which market will reap higher economic rewards for Sinew Hair Cream.
