5.1 Data Analysis of the reading comprehension papers
In the pre-test paper, two texts are employed to test the experimental groupstudents. These two texts are selected on account of some related words which belongto some frames. The first text proceeds around the [DREAM] frame. It is easy to findthe elements within this frame in this text. The following is the words which belong tothe [DREAM] frame existence in this text. The purpose of this text is talking about different kinds of dream. Dream isfamiliar with the students. While they are not aware of the related words belong to aframe, it would be have some difficulties for them to comprehend the text.The second text is formed around the [COLOUR] frame. The elements of thisframe are presented from the aspect of feeling. The following words are the elementsfrom the text within the [COLOUR] frame.

Conclusion


According to the result of the experiment, it draws a conclusion that it is possibleto apply the frame semantics into vocabulary teaching.During the reading comprehension, there are many vocabularies in the text, thestudents can comprehend the text easily by classifying the related words and elementswithin the frame. Since they have the background knowledge of the frame, they canguess the unknown words and they can relate the main idea of the text to thebackground knowledge to help them to comprehend the text. The vocabularies arealways presented to the students within a frame. So the students can comprehend thetext by a frame even though they cannot get the exact meaning of each word. Whenthe students meet any of the elements in the frame, then the rest of the elements arepresented as well. It would be helpful for them to comprehend the whole textaccording to the frame which they have had in their minds.
