摘要:本文是一篇初中英语教学论文,本研究对中学教师纠正性反馈提出一些建议:(1) 教师要根据具体学情灵活运用多种纠正性反馈类型,激发学生写作动机;(2) 教师要适当采纳学生对纠正性反馈的意见和建议,使学生能够更积极主动地接收纠正性反馈;(3) 教师要重视纠正性反馈的教学意义和写作功能,关注学生写作动机变化。
2.2 Introduction of Corrective Feedback
Corrective feedback plays an important role in the study of second language acquisition. Many scholars at home and abroad have done a lot of research from the theoretical and practical aspects, and the relevant research achievements are fruitful. In order to have a better understanding of corrective feedback, the concepts, categorizes and functions of corrective feedback will be illustrated in this part.
2.2.1 Definition of Corrective Feedback
Many scholars gave their different understandings on the definition of corrective feedback. They were inclined to regard corrective feedback as a kind of information, but the definitions differ in some respects.
Chaudron (1977) first defined corrective feedback as “a certain reaction of teachers to learners’ wrong utterances”. It is a broad definition. He considered corrective feedback as the process of dealing with student’s discourse. Ellis(1985) defined corrective feedback as a response to learners’ attempts to achieve communicative goals, including functions such as correction, confirmation, explanation and suggestion. Ellis gave the definition from the perspective of learners and contended that corrective feedback is a series of behaviors and reactions taken by learners to achieve the purpose of communication. Communication is viewed as the ultimate goal of corrective feedback. Keh (1990) gave definition from teacher’s perspective and claimed that corrective feedback can be defined as teachers’ suggestions on the revision of students’ articles, which is a kind of language input for language learners. In Keh’s view, corrective feedback is seen as a knowledge input that helps students update incorrect knowledge in writing. It emphasizes corrective feedback in article, which is different from Chaudron’s focus on discourse. Domyei (1991) argued that the corrective feedback serves as a strategy to attract notice from students. Because corrective feedback allows students to observe the discrepancies between the acquired language and the target language.
