5.1 Results
Following the completion of data collection,this part mostly displays dataanalysis results,including questionnaires,test papers,and interview results.
5.1.1 Results of questionnaires
The questionnaire is used to investigate the impact of critical reading instructionon the frequency with which students employ critical reading strategies.Thequestionnaire was specifically examined to explore changes in the frequency ofemploying the six methods of prediction,generalization,analysis,inference,questioning,and evaluation.Prior to the experiment,the study discovered nosignificant difference in the frequency of critical reading strategy use between theexperimental and control classes using descriptive statistics and independent samplest-test analysis that fulfilled the experimental requirements.Following the experiment,the study compiled the collected post-questionnaire data and analyzed thequestionnaire data of the experimental and control classes using descriptive statistics,independent samples t-test,and paired samples t-test,respectively,to investigatechanges in the frequency of students'use of six critical reading strategies followingcritical reading teaching.As a result,SPSS26.0 was used to analyze the acquiredquestionnaire data.The questionnaire results were particularly evaluated using anindependent samples test and a paired samples t-test.
Furthermore,the criterion for evaluating the frequency of critical reading strategies is based on Oxford's frequency level.In Language learning strategies:What every teacher should know,Professor Oxford(1990:300)proposed thatOxford's frequency scale defines the criterion of frequency scale as follows.

6.1 Major Findings of the Research
Through the data collection and analysis of questionnaires,tests,and interviews,the study believes that the implementation of critical reading teaching in junior highschool students is effective.The following are the main findings of this study:
