摘要:In addition,the survey study focuses on exploring the relationship among teachers'perception, teachers' experience and students' belief on motivational strategies by teachersin EFL college classrooms, and its findings will shed light on the college English teachingin China.

isted above indicate that,more attention should be paid to empiricalinvestigations of practical motivational strategies in accordance with Education system inChina,after relatively sound theoretical foundations have been laid from differentpsychological perspectives. The present study, therefore, is aimed to find out theperceptions and actual application of pre-service college teachers on the use ofmotivational strategies, and list some recommended effective motivational strategies in theChinese EFL classroom combined with feedbacks of students.


Chapter Two Literature Review


This chapter gives a general picture of recent researches on motivation andmotivational strategies. It includes four parts : firstly, it introduces the theoreticalexploration of motivation,reviews the review of the development of motivationalstrategies home and abroad; then points out research gaps and puts forward researchquestions of the present study; and finally, it gives a chapter summary.


2.1 Motivation
This section reviews key motivation-related concepts and theories. It gives itsdefinition and two kinds of classifications: integrative-instrumental motivation andintrinsic-extrinsic motivation. And some major motivational theories in mainstreamPsychology are reviewed.


2.1.1 Definidon of Motivation
Motivation is one of the most crucial factors in psychology. Theories concerningmotivation attempt to explain nothing less than why human behave and think as they do(Dorynei, 2008). In this case, there is no doubt that how to define motivation was the firstand foremost step the psychologists need to take precedes further research. The concept ofmotivation has been interpreted differently by psychological schools from differentperspectives over time.
