And in recent years, many scholars have made some detailed researches on  hand  verbs.  In  2008,  Lu  Yanhui  gave  a  definition  of  hand  verbs  in  his  doctoral dissertation-Study on the Chinese Verbs that Indicate the Motion of Hands Based on Corpus.  He  defines  hand  verbs  as  the  specific  action  verbs  which  need  the participation of hands, not including the ancient verbs, hand action verbs in dialect or morphemes.
