Chapter Five Results and Discussion 

5.1 Analysis on Cognition Attitudes Toward Letter Words 

The  thesis  has  surveyed  the  attitudes  of  cognition  from  three  aspects:  advantages  of  letter  words, disadvantages of letter words, and relationship between letter words and Chinese Characters. And the three aspects are expressed by 13 sentences as table two. Among those sentences, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10 and 11 are all positive items, and 7, 8, 9, 12 and 13 are negative items. The smaller the score is, the more positive the cognitional attitude of subject is toward letter words. Firgure1 has given us information that the frequency distributions of total score from three majors are different.  The  foreign  languages’  students  mainly  distribute  in  three  score  groups:  26  to  30,  31  to  35  and 36-40. But the group whose scores are between 26 and 30 contains the largest number of undergraduates, and it means that students related to foreign language are prone to partially agree with advantages of letter words. Undergraduates related to Chinese  mainly occupy three score groups: 31 to 35, 36 to 40, 41 to 45 and 46 to 50.These students are more likely to be negative towards the cognition of letter words. Those in other majors mainly lie in three groups: 31 to 35, 36 to 40 and 41 to 45.And they tend to be neutral to the cognition of letter words. The above figure is only on the distribution information of total score of scale, so it is indispensable to analyze mean and standard deviation of the total score of scale to further explain some details.

Conclusions 

From  above  data,  both  majors  and  education  degree  affect  students’  attitudes  on  cognition,  emotion and status toward letter words. The specific results are as followings. On  cognition  attitudes,  the  whole  distributive  tendencies  of  undergraduates  and  postgraduates  of  the three  majors  groups  are  all  positive.  But  majors  generate  some  differences  in  such  tendency.  Foreign languages have made students prefer to accept letter words’ advantageous aspects. Other majors group is in middle  degree.  Chinese  major  increases  them  more  opposition  to  letter  words.  And  learning  experiences affect  the  degree  of  their  attitudes.  Here,  via  interview,  high  cognition  attitudes  of  students  related  to foreign  languages  results  from  high  cognition  degree  toward  letter  words.  Undergraduates  are  more extreme, and postgraduates are close论文英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写英语论文代写代写论文代写英语论文代写留学生论文代写英文论文留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
