摘要:IT人力资源外包现如今作为一个十分普及的项目迫切需要变革管理来平衡他们的技术专长和员工管理,本文就此问题进行了研究,是一篇优秀的留学生作业。

'Research which attempts to increase our understanding of why things are the way they are in our social world and why people act the ways they do is “qualitative” research.'

 

Second approach, is the quantitative research, which is numerical data gives scientific result it has an objective nature. Closed ended questions are distributed to a random sample. Results are in measurable terms but it depends too much in sample tested and it has the risk of being biased. Hancock, (1998:24) stated that:

 

'To investigate things which we could observe, and measure in some way. Such observations and measurements can be made objectively and repeated by other researchers. This process is referred to as “quantitative” research'.

 

Robinson (1997) argued that Quantitative forms of measurement generate hard data which can be used for comparative purposes and it is suited to hard impersonal situations. However Qualitative methods are better to be used in soft circumstances specially culture as it is based in people. All above authors has presented the two approaches as different paradigms or method to reach conclusion.

 

Hignett and Wilson (2004 cited Kanis 2004) differentiate qualitative from quantitative by 'words and pictures, rather than numbers and graphs; few cases, many ‘variables’ instead of the reverse; sampling developed during study rather than pre assigned; iterative analysis; reflexivity as to the role of the researcher'.

 

Hence, researcher can use both approaches and the result may vary between 4 types namely: Corroboration both methods achieved same result, Elaboration: Qualitative exemplifies how quantitative apply, Complementarity: results are different but together generate insights and Contradiction: where findings are conflicts (Brannen, 2005)

 

3.5 DATA COLLECTION METHOD:

 

As specified earlier, this report is to find out what are the key success factors that affect the outcome of an IT outsourcing solutions. The literature explains in detail why there is an urgent need for IT outsourcing to embrace change management to complement their technical expertise and employee management. The method to find out what is mentioned earlier should be clear and simple and the execution should be done without bias to avoid any problems regarding the final result.

 

Based on the literature review; writer willing to draw a frame work to investigate the ability of the change manager in an ITO to utilise the approaches, in order to increase the probability of arriving at a successful outcome to ITO process.
