If we court the dreg from American culture when we are taking something from it without selection, it is extremely dangerous to us. Furthermore, China, a country with a long history, has accumulated profound cultural heritage which is a great deal of treasure. A country’s culture deposits, which are seen as a country’s soft power, have played a more and more important role in its competitiveness. We have to inherit and develop the splendid part of our own traditional culture as well as criticize its defect, otherwise we will lose our culture, the great treasure developed and left by our ancestors, and the whole country will get lost under the mighty collision and violent attack of American culture and other Western culture. In conclusion, taking the essence and discarding the dross is the exact way to deal with American culture and other Western culture. At the same time, we need and must develop and promote our own culture.
