A democratic political system is an essential condition for sustained economic progress

Abstract:
The relationship between political system and economy has long been the hot issue of academic debate. With the advancement of world economy, there is a general agreement to the important role of economic promotion played by political system. No doubt, a political system enacts the economic pattern of a country whereas political form is based on economic development. Democracy encourages free enterprise and equal competition and provides a good environment for development with social order and equality, which are elementary for sustained development in front of the world environmental crisis.

Introduction
There has been a hot debate about democracy and economy, for example, blogging for China, oversea Chinese and inland Chinese will have a different opinion on democracy in China. In a word, democracy is not almighty. That depends on divergent conditions. But nowadays, democracy might be the most appropriate choice for a sustainable economy. Taking the United States as an example, the government can pass an environmental protection proposal which was past by the House of Representatives which are composed of the public needs. It can make more policy decisions to protect overrunning resource which may happen in free market. To name not a detailed list, but there will be three points mainly discussed in the essay.

There is not a political system that is perfect and prevails forever in the world or in history. So we can say that all kinds of political systems have shortcomings and strengths. But only one that is based on contemporary productivity level can increase economy development. A developing economy requires appropriate political form. For example, in primitive society, it is impossible to build a democratic political form to feed people. It is a common truth that superstructure is based on economic level.
