摘要:Quantitative method is used in the study. All the data collected from http://www.51lunwen.org/ the experiment is analyzed by SPSS V11. 4 to find out the effectiveness of the training program. It is concluded that the training program is helpful to foster a good habit of reading after class,and enhance learner autonomy in English reading.

Ⅱ. Research Methodology
2. 1 Hypo
thesis ( 1) Does training program with the
strategy of signing learner contract improve learners’autonomy awareness and ability? ( 2) Does signing learner contract develop a good habit of reading out of class?( 3) Does development of autonomous learning enhance reading proficiency?
2. 2 Subjects
The subjects participating in the learner training in this study all come from Chinese Language Department in Youth College of Political Science of Inner Mongolia Normal University.The first class consists of 43 freshmen ( 40 girls and 2 boys) ,The second class has 43 freshmen ( 42 girls and 1 boy) . Theyboth are college students from Chinese Language Department.
2. 3 Instruments
The research method used in this study is quantitative.There are two tests in this study.Tests A pre - test and a post - test of reading comprehension are conducted to the students in both the experimental class and the controlled class in this research. Each test paper contains two articles with 10 reading comprehension multiple choices. All the articles are all adapted from the test papers of CET - 4 randomly. The full score of a test paper is 100. We use these tests to get the participants’marks and levels of reading comprehension.
2. 4 Procedure
The study begins from the first semester of the first - year students whose major is chinese,and lasts for eight successive weeks. Both groups of students finish a pre - test of reading comprehension proficiency before training. The scores on the pre - test are used to compare the English level of the two classes at the beginning. In order to control variables,the same teacher teaches both controlled and experimental classes. She uses traditional teaching method to the controlled class and adopts the training program with Signing Learning Contract for fostering learner autonomy to the experimental class.
The training lasts two months. As soon as the training is finished,all the participants from both controlled and experimental classes have a post - test of reading comprehension proficiency. The scores on the post -test are used as data to determine whether they have significant difference after program.Signing learner contract with learners out of Class: The following steps display how the experiment is conducted in this research.
1. Setting goal and making learning plans
In the first week of the 8 week - long experiment,a learner contract is signed with every student of the experimental class. As the name implies,a learning contract is signed between a teacher and a student.
