3.1 The Definitions and Stages of the Replication and Parody
According to the theory of memetics，a meme was spread through the replicationamong people, the memes can replicate themselves from books to the receiver, then fromthe receiver to books. Traditionally，people's language and knowledge gained fromthe society and schools, from the textbooks and teachers. However，in the realm ofinternet，people gain information mainly through self-learning, while the carrier of theinformation and memes are the webs and BBS. When people came into contact with newnetspeak or new words, these words or terms will spread rapidly among the users ofinternet, in this way，a meme was formed and further spread itself with replication andparody.According to the materials the author of this thesis collected, there were differentdefinitions of parody. In The Cambridge International Dictionary of English withChinese Translation, parody was defined that in the fields of “writing, music, art, etc.which intentionally copies the style of someone famous or copies a particular situation,making the features of the original more noticeable in a way that is humorous. ”

Conclusion

Years of development made replication and parody of memetics a well known andwidely accepted theory. Originated from biological field，it went beyond the field ofbiology to other fields, such as anthropology, sociology，linguistics and so on. Theintroduction of replication and parody to the field of linguistics is beyond doubt a greatimprovement of the theory, but also the transmission of English netspeak. From theabove analysis, we must say that the theory of Memetics provides us with a new insightto probe into the study of the English netspeak. The replication and parody theory playsan important role in the process of the generation and transmission of English netspeak.Thus, this thesis had a detailed analysis over the development of English netspeak fromthe perspective of replication and parody.As the aim of this thesis plans to reach，the thesis states at the beginning of thisthesis that the conclusion it aims to get is that the theory of replication and parody canapply to the English netspeak well. Being viewed as cultural memes, English netspeakreveals the strong vitality in their originating, replicating as well as transmitting, so thatEnglish netspeak can be easily accepted and used among the public.
