In the previous researches at home and abroad, people adopted the unit of timethat students spend on their assignment to measure homework quantity. As a result,in this research the author also use time unit to measure the homework quantity thatthe teacher assigns to the students of both the experimental class and the control class.The author plans to take the multiple-choice questions as the type of assignment.Another important thing we have to make certain is how many assignments a firstgrader of vocational high school can complete in unit time, in other words, howmuch time it takes a first grader to complete a certain amount of assignments.Students of different levels have different abilities in doing school work. For thesame quantity of work, high-ability students may spend much less time than theirlow-ability classmates do, so it is essential for the author to assess the assignmentefficiency of the two classes. In order to get an objective condition of their realefficiency levels, three tests were given to measure the students time consumption ofcompleting a certain amount of assignment. These tests would help the author todecide how many assignments to give in a single week. The author would be able togive the right amount of assignment to suit the students average academic Englishabilities.

Conclusion
This research is carried out to study the relationships between assignmentquantity and English achievements in vocation high schools. We have found that itdid help to improve the PETS pass rate of the experimental class and as a result morestudents have got access to vocational college examinations. Apparently, this is infavor of helping those lowing performing students regain some interest in learningEnglish. Compared with many previous researches, this research was conductedmore deeply and specifically, because not only the lateral relationships between theexperimental class and the control class are studied, but also the longitudinal changesof English performance of the experimental class are analyzed in detail. Thisassignment quantity research lasted 19 weeks in full. Vocational high school students are lowing performing students and they alsovary in many aspects.
