bsp;Most  of  them  are  used  for grammatical  need.  This  is  one  great  characteristic  of  this  novel.  Another  kind  of inversion which the Jane Austen uses mostly in this novel is the “there be + subject” structure. It is presented in several ways, like negative and interrogative sentences. It runs  through  the  whole  novel,  too.  Inversion  with  negative  words  as  beginning  also takes up large proportion. This type appears in some narrative situations, which is rare in  characters’  conversation.  From  chapter  21  to  chapter  45,  this  kind  of  inversion helps  offer  settings  for  the  plots.  In  addition,  the  author  is  inclined  to  use  subjective mood  in  this  novel.  The  patterns  of  subjunctive  mood  can  not  only  help  make  this novel  not  so  boring,  but  also  make  the  writer’s  ideas  and  attitudes  understood  well. From chapter 22 to chapter 50, the inversion with subjunctive sentences which stands the facts which are opposite to the past is used a lot times. There are only 8 inverted sentences  which  belong  to  the  pattern  of  “how+  adjective/adverb  +  auxiliary  + subject”. They are mostly used from chapter 37 to chapter 50 which are the climax of  the  novel.  It  helps  the  characters  express  their  feelings  strongly.  The  inversion structure with “so+ auxiliary + subject” and “neither or nor + auxiliary + subject” is used  from  chapter  29  to  chapter  49.  Jane  Austen  mostly  uses  them  in  conversation. When  the  characters  are  talking  with  each  other,  they  prefer  to  use  this  kind  of inversion to express their agreement and disagreement.

Conclusion

After  interpreting  the  inversion  in  Pride  and  Prejudice,  a  conclusion  will  be showed to the readers. In this chapter, this study introduces the major finding. Some limitations of this study will be cited. To solve some problems in this study and help language researchers analyze inversion further in the future, several suggestions about the further study of inversion will be offered . There are three major findings which the author gets by doing this study. Firstly, the  distribution  of  inversion  in  Pride  and  Prejudice  is  very  special.  It  is  a  legendary literature work which attempts to describe different relationships and feelings among different characters. There are lots of different inversion used in this novel.
