摘要:本文是英语论文范文,本文的目的是通过问卷调查的方法来揭露我国非英语系大学生元认知监控能力与学习自主水平相关性。该研究同时也为了填补过去对英语学习中元认知监控研究的留白。
to make clear whether there is a significant and positive correlation between all factors of meta-cognitive monitoring and the students’ learner autonomy. The theoretical significance of the study is to make complement for previous empirical studies on meta-cognition and further open up a more specific research path for meta-cognitive strategies, as a result, to make a more comprehensive analysis for the influence on learner autonomy from other aspects which were not paid enough attention to in the past decades. The practical significance of the study are as follows: 1. To make university students know the function of each parts in meta-cognitive monitoring so as to cultivate students’ meta-cognitive awareness and drive them to use meta-cognitive strategies on their own. In spite of the decisive position meta-cognition has taken in the whole learning process, not all language learners can realize that. Researches have shown that a lot of foreign English learners are quite accustomed to using cognitive strategies, but rarely know meta-cognitive monitoring strategies, much less use them. Therefore, the study can remind students to focus on meta-cognitive monitoring strategies. 2. To guide university students knowing the correlation between planning/ monitoring/ evaluation/ remedy and learner autonomy, which can help them analyze the errors in English learning in a correct way. Language learners always make mistakes while learning and that makes them feel confused at times. They may overestimate the influence of the error, or underestimate it. And the school scoring system also exacerbate their confusion for it relies on the rule-based learning but not autonomous learning.

2 Literature Review
This part focuses on the theoretical foundations for the study, which covers three parts. To begin with, it displays the theories of meta-cognition and meta-cognitive monitoring, as well as the interrelationship between them. After that, it reviews the definitions and characteristics of learner autonomy. In addition, it represents several previous theoretical studies regarding the meta-cognitive monitoring and learner autonomy.
