All employees are contracted to work a standard five day, nine to five week, so no consideration need be given to weekend or shift working. However, even though all employees are salaried and no overtime payments are made, some employees regularly work additional hours due to workload. This would need to be taken into consideration when the sampling due to the possible effects of fatigue, which may negatively influence their contributions. Conversely, the likelihood that these employees are already highly motivated, due to the fact that they are voluntarily working additional hours, could positively influence their contributions, therefore this will also need to be considered.

数据收集法---Data Collection Methods:


The interviews will be conducted in person where possible, although telephone interviews may also be used. The suitability of telephone interviews will be assessed following the pilot study data analysis. There will be a total of forty five interviews undertaken, which represents 36% of the workforce, each of a duration of between one and two hours. The interviews will be audio-recorded and later transcribed onto a suitable word-processing software package on a pc. The computer should also have high-speed access to the internet to facilitate the sourcing of secondary data from relevant academic journals, e-books and other suitable sources. Telephones will also need to be made available should a telephone interview be required and in order to confirm dates and times of the interviews.


All interviews will take place during normal working hours so a detailed schedule, communicated to all those selected and their mangers, a month in advance, will be necessary to allow for the planning of workloads and appointments around the interviews. Travel costs and downtime will be significant and will need to be considered, therefore, consideration should be given to vehicle sharing for staff from similar locations and arranging their interviews subsequent to one and other.

The audio-recordings will be transcribed by a touch typist. Although the extra expense will need to be considered and careful checking of the transcription will be necessary (Saunders et al, 2007), the total time taken to transcribe will be reduced. Non-audio data, such as body language, pauses and sighs will need to be recorded by hand during the interview in order to incorporate in the final analysis. A transcribed interview will be saved as an individual word-processed file and the naming convention decided beforehand, but will need to protect the anonymity of the interviewee (Saunders et al, 2007).
