摘要:Through the investigation about the college English learning adaptation state of freshmen,we can find the problems existed in flieir English learning. And this can provide someimplications for teachers and administrators to help freshmen to adapt to the new environmentand teaching model as soon as possible.
Chapter IV Results & Discussions
4.1 Research results
According to the data analysis in 3.2.5, it is interpreted that English learningadaptability of the freshmen from Northwest A&F University is little low, but most of themare in good adaptation. For every factor, learning initiative performs worst, and learning attitude performsbetter, which indicates that students have recognized the importance of English learning, butthey act less actively in English learning. aking sexuality as independent variables, independent sample test is given to testfreshman English learning adaptability,and it reveals form that, there is no significantdifference between males and females. In terms of learning techniques and learning abilityII (P<0.5), males is significantly higher than females, and there is no difference existingbetween males and females concerning other factors,which indicates that English learningadaptability of male and female freshmen balances well.

Conclusion
Through this theoretical and empirical study on college students' learning adaptability, theresults showed that: Freshmen English learning adaptive structure consisted of two dimensions, ninefactors. It was a multi-dimensional’ multi-layered structure model. Internal aspect including:learning attitude, learning ability, learning technology, learning motivation, learningautonomy; the external environment including: learning resources, the way of learning,teaching organization, the physical environment. The empirical model was in keeping with thetheoretical concept model in certain degree In this study, statistical tests results showed that the questionnaire we designed for theevaluation of college students' learning adaptability based on the theoretical ideas andempirical conception had good reliability and validity and could be the ideal tool for theevaluation of college students' learning adaptability. In terms of gender, there was no significant difference between male and femalestudents on college English learning adaptability (sig =.139). However, on specific factors, theboys' learning abilities and learning technical was distinctly better than girls'. In terms of family background, there was no significant difference between thestudents from rural and urban areas (sig.=.606). However, students from rural areas wereobviously better than the students from cites in the adaptation factors of learning autonomyand the college humanities and physical environment. While, students from cites wereevidently better than students from rural areas in the adaptation of the way of learning.
