Culture translation is stemmed from the major transition of translation studyorientation named 'culture turn' which served as a great transitional period from theparadigm from 'prescription' to 'description', a turn of disciplinary orientation from'technical' to 'academic' (Pan Wenguo, 2009:99). According to another famous translationtheorist, Wang Ning (2009:40), the 'culture turn' advocated by Bassnett and Levefere, notonly lead translation, the newly-rising discipline, which lacks the theoretical foundation inlinguistics and literature communicative facts, out of plight, but also offered a newtheatrical perspective to scholars from which translation study shifts their focus andtherefore advances toward culture. The perspective of culture has broadened the prospect oftranslation study as well as acknowledge of this discipline.Study of cultural translation boasts the practical significance in the age ofglobalization according to Wang Ning (2005). He states that the growing importance oftranslation, which is stemmed from the increasing needs of global emerging andcommunicating, calls for a switch from a single linguistic-oriented definition to the practice of plurality from culturally inspired definitions to better facilitate translation's role as thecommunication tool between different cultures. The theoretical study of cultural translationthus boasts the significance from the perspective of the needs from global communicationand interaction.

2.2 Literature Review on Hu Shi's Poetry Translation
In the limited studies of Hu Shi's translation, many have been done under the historical background of New Culture Movement. Li Dan (2006) confined her study to HuShi's stay in American. She tried to study the influence of his creation of baihua poetry inEnglish on his translation. She concluded that Hu Shi's poetry creation in English hastrained his thoughts, which laid a foundation for his Chinese baihua poetry creation in NewCulture Movement. Shi Yunbo (2000) states that it was Hu Shi who first announced definitively the failure of translation into Chinese by the written form of Classical Chineseand blazed a new path for translation into Chinese by the written form of modem Chinese,and not without a sample prototype set of new comes in his article 'The Contribution of HitShi to Modern Chinese Translation Undertaking” published in Shantou University Journalin 2000. He stresses the cultural and ideological significance of Hu Shi's translation and itssupporting role to the enlightenment of New Culture Movement. Liao Qiyi (2006)elaborated that the baihua poetry translated by Hu Shi bore great significance in propellingthe development of the New Culture Movement. Concerning the influence of Hu Shi'stranslated poetry on the development of Chinese New Poetry, the domestic researchers .七came to the same conclusion: that Hu Shi made contribution to the development of ChineseNew Poetry as a new literature genre in originating during New Culture Movement to writepoems with baihua.
