In writing class, it is not tough to find that students are locked in theclassroom all day, keeping no touch with the real life. The process of writing keepsstudents away from the actual life. What’s more, there exists too much emphasis onthe examination, which violates the natural procedures. Eco-classroom that leteducation return to nature. The composition teaching should also be “back to nature”,which means let students back to the original nature and describe a true life in theirwriting.

Chapter 2 Literature Review
This chapter primarily presents the situation of current research aboutEco-classroom, writing and writing ability. Meanwhile, the relationship betweenEnglish writing and Eco-classroom as well as the previous study at home and abroadwill be discussed. The purpose of the chapter is to provide a full framework for thenext research.
2.1 Eco-classroom Approach
Eco-classroom approach is a new approach in English teaching. It is a healthy,harmonious, dynamic, and balance system, which focuses on the importance ofstudent-center. Exploring the concept of Eco-classroom approach is beneficial forEnglish writing teaching.Ecology was first proposed by Haeckel as a scientific concept. German biologistE. Haeckel came up with this terminology. In his thought “Ecology is the relationshipbetween living things and environment” (Wu & Zhu, 1998:2). Later, in 1932, Waller.W, an American educational scholar, first put forward the terminology “ecology ofclassroom” in his book “sociology of education”. This is from the view of micro-level.Chinese scholar put forward that “Ecology is the relationship between the variousindividuals or groups, which are living together in the same environment” (LiCongming,1989). The president of Columbia University Normal College LawrenceCreming in the book of “Public Education” definitely came up with the concept of“Education Ecology”, who holds that “Ecological principles should be applied inresearching the rule of development of education”. Tudor published “The DynamicNature of the Language Classroom” while Leather accomplished the book of“Ecology of Language Acquisition” in 2003. Leather explored the fact thatresearchers should regard the teaching as a whole and he also emphasized that a goodecological classroom environment is made by teachers and students, which formed theofficial framework of the ecology theory of foreign language classroom teaching.
