1.0 Introduction
Foxconn is one of the top 500 companies in this world. In 2010, one significant case happened over there, which might change the fate and development of Foxconn. This case is the 14 repeated suicide issues of Foxconn’s young staffs in Shenzhen (www.Chinanews.com). This case also exposes the present special dilemma situation of Foxconn’s people management. As one student majored in this area, the author of this paper chooses this case as the analysis topic. For finishing this paper, following part would make the analysis with four main parts. Part 1 would give one brief introduction about the background of the relative theories and cases. Part 2 would give critical theory analysis, such as the definition, importance, development, influencing factors, improvement actions of management and HRM. Part 3 is about the description of the Foxconn’s repeated suicide cases, from reviewing the whole process of this case to the potential reasons and resolutions of it; all would be covered into this part. Part 4 would combine the theory and practical cases together to get the lessons from this case. In the analyzing process, comparative analysis, literature review and qualitative approach would be used as the main methods. With these analyses, author of this paper would tell that ‘in the light of the past, for the purposes of the future’, management should be improved and utilized according to the special situation of the organization; if putting it into one static position, it might come to be one obstacle for the companies’ development.
