摘要:中国的语言政策研究人员只专注于语言学习策略的研究,而忽视语言学习策略与个性的影响因素之间的关系问题。在中国,大多数研究人员学习语言作为一个整体,而忽略其他方面的语言学习,如阅读,听,说,写,译。

In China, there are also someresearchers who concentrate on the study of the relationship between learning strategies,learning outcomes and personality type, such as Huang Xiaohua (1987),Wen Qiufang(1996b), Tang Yongming (2003), et al. However, in all studies, the researchers treatedthe foreign language learning as a whole, none of these studies refers to the relationshipbetween the strategies for one specific aspect of foreign language learning andpersonality. Therefore, the present study aims to expose the relationship between oralEnglish strategies and learners' personality  the perspective of extroversion andintroversion.


1.2 Aims of the present study目前研究的目的
一般来说,它被认为是外向,有利于语言的学习,而内向折磨着它,尤其是英语口语,因为人们相信,外向的语言学习者做的更好,在基本的人际沟通策略,并以这种方式外向的学生能得到更多的机会练习相反,他们的英语口语能力,性格内向的语言学习者是不是在这方面占主导地位Generally speaking,it is believed that extroversion is beneficial to languagelearning whereas introversion debilitates it, especially for oral English, because peoplebelieve that extroverted language learners do better in basic interpersonalcommunication strategies, and in this way extroverted learners can get more chance topractice their oral English, On the contrary, the introverted language learners are notdominant in this area. Is it true? Is really personality type (in terms of extroversion andintroversion) connected with the learning strategies in oral English? Are there anydifferences in the choice of oral English learning strategies between extroverts andintroverts? If the answer is affirmative, what are they? To answer the questions,thepresent study attempts to investigate the relationship between personality type (in termof extroversion and introversion) and language learning strategies in oral English andthe differences in the appellation rate of oral English learning strategies betweenextroverted and introverted learners. It is hoped that the study can not only providesome useful implications for oral English teaching but also give some help for oralEnglish learning, especially for the introverts.


1.3 Significance of the present study目前研究的意义
With the economical,political and cultural globalization of the world, English isbecoming increasingly important nowadays. Of course, the aim of learning English is tocommunicate with others. Therefore, oral communication is more widely used recently.However, to our surprise, in China, some students still have difficulties incommunicating properly in English, in spite of learning English 6-9 years. The reasonswhy they can't communicate with others in English are various. As a Chinese student,apart  the traditional belief towards oral English, one of the most important reasonsis the method of learning oral English, namely, oral English learning strategies. Besides,the oral English learning strategy used to improve oral English are influenced by anumber of factors, such as personality, attitudes, age, cognitive styles, and learningachievements, etc. Among them, personality in terms of extroversion and introversion isgenerally believed to be an important one affecting the oral English learning. In addition,at home and abroad, the study of the relationship between personality in terms ofextroversion and introversion and language learning strategies in oral English has notbeen found.
