摘要:The objective of this study was to carry out a critical analysis and evaluation of strategy development in the global automobile industry. The research method used was a case study, the research object was Honda Motors. Through a PEST and a SWOT analysis, it proposed SO strategy for Honda Motors.

Strategic management refers to a dynamic management process that an enterprise determines its mission, then it is based on its organizational external environment and internal conditions to sett strategic objectives, to ensure the correct implementation and achieve the planning progress, it relies on its internal capacity to enable the planning and decision-making be implemented, as well as the process of controlling in the implementation process. An enterprise’s strategic management can ensure that it does not deviate from the correct direction of development, therefore, researches on strategic management has an important practical significance. In general, strategic management involves four key elements (Mintzberg et al, 1998): strategic analysis: it is to understand an https://www.51lunwen.org/termpaper/2012/0206/1631175365.html organization’s environment and its relative competitive position, the methods used commonly include PEST analysis, SWOT analysis and Porter's Five Forces Model, etc.; strategic choice: schools about strategy development include classical school, processual school, evolutionary school and systemic school (Whittington, 2001), every school describes approaches of development of strategies from different perspectives; strategy implementation: it refers to an enterprise’s taking measures to play a strategic role in business; strategy evaluation and adjustment: it is the testing of the effectiveness of strategies. In this study, it took Honda Motors as the research object, according to the four elements of strategy to structure the framework of this article. It first analyzed the competitive environment Honda Motors was in, then from the perspectives of evolutionary theory, system theory and process theory, it explored how Honda Motors selected and implemented its strategies and evaluated the effects of its strategies. Finally, it attempted to bring forwards recommendations on Honda Motors’ strategic management.
