A Morphological Analysis of The White Snake
Abstract
One of the most important theories in the field of lexics is contributed by a famous Russian linguist named Vladimir Iakovlevich Propp. In his 英语论文范文textual analysis on Proppian model, morphology of some famous Russian Folktale is clearly illustrated in 31 different components. Generally, most of his masterpieces are regarded as an attempt of giving a total summary to all folktales in a solid and complete structure. In addition, several useful comparisons will be carried out in order to testify the authenticity of Proppian model.

1.1.1 General Introduction of Propp’s 31 Models
Vladimir Propp was a well-famous scholar in the field of narrative structure study of fairy tale. As a matter of fact, sentence structures in almost every fairy tale has already been broken down into several analysable elements, mostly in the form of morphemes in accordance with the Formalist approach, finally, Propp was capable of reaching his purpose based on the typology of narrative structures. Along with the analysis of  different characters and roles of action, Propp claimed that there were 31 generic narratemes in the Russian folk tale, in which the functions in unvarying sequence has been discussed briefly.
