his paper On the English Translation of ChinesePolitical Terms(Li,2014:133),believes that political terms with Chinese characteristics arepolitical terms with specific meanings developed by the CPC Party and the government in aseries of activities dealing with domestic and foreign affairs.In A Research on the EnglishTranslation of Political Terms from the Perspective of Eco-translatology(Lan,2018:52),LanDongxiu thinks political terms refer to the important concepts and expressions with Chinesecharacteristics frequently used in political documents,especially in party documents andgovernment reports,which can be words and phrases,sentences or other expressions.In thepaper Translation and communication of some important political terms since the 18thNational Congress of the CPC(Yang,2016:13),Yang Xuedong points out that politicalterms refer to a series of new concepts and new expressions with Chinese characteristics,richtheoretical connotations and effective communication which are put forward since the 18thParty Congress by the CPC Party.Through these definitions,I see that political terms withChinese characteristics are serious and rigorous,which cannot be translated arbitrarily andindiscriminately.

The features of political terms with Chinese characteristics are as follows:(1)authoritative.(2)highly generalized,often with abbreviations,very neat in structure.(3)verypolitical.(4)featured by the times,often closely related to the economic.

Translation of political terms with Chinese characteristics requires high quality oftranslators.Familiarity of the definitions and features of political terms with Chinesecharacteristics is the first step.

2.2 Previous Research on Inconsistent Translation of Political Termswith Chinese Characteristics

The problem of inconsistent translation has been discussed for a long time,but not muchresearch with effective solutions has been done on inconsistent translation of political termswith Chinese characteristics.With regard to the inconsistent translation about political termswith Chinese characteristics,scholars mainly focus on two aspects:consistency principle,problems and suggestions about inconsistency of translation.

First,in terms of consistency principle,Yang Mingxing,in his paper Principles andStrategies for the Translation of Neologism China’s Diplomacy(Yang,2014:103-107),pointed out some problems in C-E translation,such as,some translations are not accurateenough and politically sensitive;some translated names are not consistent.Then,severaltranslation principles were put forward:principle of political equivalence,principle ofconsistency,etc.In the paper An Analysis of the English Translation of Political terms withChinese characteristics:Take the English Translation of“思想”as an Example(Fu,2016:322+324)，Fu Yupei proposed three major principles in the translation of political terms,namely,accuracy,consistency of translation and political equivalence.He took the Englishtranslation of“思想”as an example to analyze the guiding effect of the three principles onthe English translation of political terms.However,the consistency principles thoseresearchers put forward are not adequate enough to solve the current problems.
