In recent years, the social status of the black has been improving due to the long effort and struggle. The number of the black in parliament of all levels and governmental seats has increased to some extend. For example, Brown, died of airframe unfortunately, was the former minister of treasury department. In addition, in sportsdom, the black always are champions and also make much progress in economy and education.
The status of the black has obvious improved through these series striving for rights. At the same time, the black writers try to blazon forth the Afro-American culture and this improves great effects of the Afro-American culture and increases Americans’ sense of self-identity to the black culture.

In the process of the development of the Afro-American culture, the nationality consciousness of black undergoes from lack to reformation. Because of various history reasons such as colonization and slavery, in one certain period of the American history, the Afro-American lose completely the rights of human being, but turn into a tool that can speak, a commodity that can increase wealth. For those, the black have reshaped their own nationality consciousness. The reformation process of black nationality consciousness is the process of carrying forward the black national culture heritage and it plays catalysis to the spread of black culture.

Her oldest daughter Dine is a representation of new generation of black who grow up under the edification of white’s idea value. Her second daughter Magi is a person of recreance with normal appearance but knows the family history like the palm of her hand. At the end of the novel, when Dine says that she wants to inherit the two old quilts made up by the grandmother, she is refused by her mother. The mother wants to give Magi as she thinks only Magi knows how to use the two quilts. The two quilts are scrabbled up by grandmother with many small pieces of cloth and then sewed by Dine’s aunt and her mother. There is severa
