摘要:本文是大学英语教学论文,本篇论文旨在对大学英语教学比赛展示做多模态话语分析。基本的理论依据来自 Halliday 的系统功能语法理论和 Kress & van Leeuwen 的视觉语法。
Language teaching, especially English, has become a fashionable field formultimodal discourse analysis.In the following part, features of the English teaching contest will be discussedfrom two aspects: the structure and choice of semiotic resources.Zhang Delu (2013) applies multimodal genre to the procedure study of foreignlanguage teaching. Based on his teaching process modal and through the collectedvideo, the general structure of this English teaching contest is concluded as:[CB]-[TO]-[MC]-[DD]-[AS]-[FI].CB stands for Class Beginning; TO stands for Teaching Objective; MC stands forMain Content DD stands for Discussion & Debate; AS stands for assignments; FIstands for Finish.According to the research annotation of each video, the following figure 5.1shows time duration of each period in the three videos.Through the collected video data, it can be seen that TO, MC, and DD periodtake larger portion over the process of English teaching contest.In class begin period, teachers usually say hello to students and attract theattention of students. In teaching objective period, teachers mainly tell students theaim of this class. Main content usually plays embedded videos. In discussion anddebate period, students will give a discussion on the topic. In assignment and finishperiod, teachers will make an assignment on the topic and call it a day.Next, this thesis will be analyzed from the choice of semiotic resources andcollocations of different semiotic resources.
