Conclusion


Pragmatic parameters have been elaborated in the above chapter,which also play acrucial role in the analysis of euphemisms. Students may not have reached this level butteachers should realize this important point and never disregard of them especially whenthose four elements are mixed together to impinge on euphemistic speech acts.In the class, teachers are not supposed to ignore both regular euphemisms in thedictionaries and temporary ones existing in communication. Whenever and wherever theyappear, try to give them the most detailed explanations and instructions of how to applythem in the real situations. The most convenient way is to make full use of the textbookswhich provide the most direct and familiar materials. If there are not sufficient materials inthe textbooks, when teachers analyze some conversational speech acts, the euphemisticones should be added.
There are some constraints and limitations in this thesis which should be put forwardin this research.
1) The research was conducted by a small number of students, especially by a smallnumber of foreign students. The researcher has tried her best yet there are no enoughforeign students here in this university.
2) There is inappropriate design in the research paper which has been found during theprocess of the thesis writing. The researcher should take all the five strategies broughtup by Brown and Levinson into designing the choices in part IV which would make thetest more convincible and complete.
