1. The current state of the business
Daisy’s Café, a privately owned coffee shop, locates close to the community in the downtown of the city of Shanghai. It’s opened since the year 2001, mainly offers coffee for white-collar staffs from the nearby office building and local residents and passers-by. In the early period when we start business, by adopting a series of policies such as daily discounted coffee, VIP card, etc. the café is in the position of attracting a large number of customers; at the same time we make good profits.

As time goes by, there are some bars and teahouses appeared around our café, these entire competitors share customers with us, our profit is reducing month by month. However, the Café only occupies an area of 30 square meters, which is hindering the café from expanding its services, for example, to change a normal coffee shop into an Internet Café. Customers often express their dissatisfaction, complaining about limited services, narrow space, improper interior layout and decoration.

It is the right time to do something with the café in order to raise our turnover and to make more profits, new strategy which not only to expand the business area but also to expand service scope of the café.
