Conclusion


This thesis aims to test the acquisition of EMVC by Chinese learners of English;however, the participants in the current thesis are all English majors who can notrepresent all kinds of English learners.Besides, the number of the participants is relatively small, considering thereliability and validity of the test. And participants are supposed to range from theEnglish majors to non-English majors, from the graduates to postgraduates, or even tothe senior or junior high school students. Various groups of the participants fromdifferent grades or different majors will be more representative and persuasive.In addition, the quantity of the exercise in the test paper is still insufficient, whichcan be enlarged into a bigger number in future studies so as to better reflect problemsexisted when students deal with EMVC.In the end, future studies are expected to adopt more various types of exercise intest papers for the purpose of being more valid and scientific.
To sum up, a study combined with the theory and practice is more likely a real,meaningful and convincing study; and the study should be reliable and valid by thereasonable and delicate design of the test and fair judgment of the answers, along withone more important thing—just putting it into practice instead of thinking stuffily byimaginary. Like the sentence I cannot like more “Later is better than never”, I wouldlike to say: “Done is better than never.” once you have taken your heart.
