 No.  2  High  School  took  part  in  it  as  the respondents  of  this  study,  of  which  45  students  constituted  the  experimental  group  while the  remaining  represented  the  control  group.  Twelve  grammar  games  were  played  as  a form of treatment over duration of three months. Data was collected through the means of a  pre  and  post  questionnaire,  a  pre  and  post  test,  as  well  as  from  classroom  observations and interviews. The data was analyzed using both the qualitative and quantitative methods.   Grammar  is  considered  as  an  important  element  for  successful  language  learning. Game-based  teaching  is  a  useful  method  to  be  used  in  grammar  lesson  as  there  are  many positive  outcomes  that  can  be  seen  after  several  activities  have  been  carried  out  in  the classroom.  By  using  games  to  help  students  learn,  practice  and  review  grammar  features, the students are motivated to learn grammar as they believe that this style of learning is an interesting  and  useful  method  because  games  help  them  remember  grammar  rules,  make good  use  of  grammar  features  and  thus  improve  grammar.  Teachers  should  ponder effective  strategies  and  media  to  improve  students’  grammar  acquisition.  Based  on  the review of study on the use of games in teaching English or English grammar, some kinds of  games  can  be  considered  as  effective  techniques  or  media  to  promote  students’ motivation,  grammar  accuracy  and  a  positive  atmosphere.  In  short,  although  this  study didn’t  reveal  how  much  exactly  game-based  grammar  teaching  is  better  than  traditional grammar teaching, the superiority of teaching grammar by means of using games has been proved.
